Stay in the farmhouse the first generation built in the 1920s, kept with its original floors, stone hearth, and windows over the lower pasture. Breakfast comes from the kitchen garden and the farm’s own eggs, and the herd is at the fence by morning.
There is no television. There is a woodstove, a shelf of books, the family’s old photographs in the hall, and a porch that looks over the herd.
Come in the afternoon. We show you the house, then walk you down to meet the herd.
A fire in the hearth, supper in the farmhouse kitchen, and the porch when the light goes.
Breakfast is left in the kitchen for you. The herd is usually at the fence before you are up.
Rest, walk the farm roads, or add a trail ride, a milking, or a herd walk. Overnight guests choose dates first.
The plumbing, heating, and kitchen are new. The floors, hearth, and windows are as the first generation left them.
Yes. There is a cot and a high chair. The stairs are steep, as in most old houses.
