Notes from behind the counter

Short notes about new cloth, the river, the workroom and the people who supply us. We write when there is something to say.

  • The Hudson River where Rondout Creek meets it, near Kingston

    Linen by river, again

In 1912 our cloth came up the Hudson by boat. This autumn, for one delivery, it did again.

  • Tailoring & fittings: Made-to-measure shirts, jackets and dresses, cut in our workroom. Fittings by appointment.

    Later fittings, and booking online

The last fitting of the day is now at 4:30, and you can book one from this website.

  • Local honey: Raw honey from beekeepers in Ulster and Greene counties, by the season.

    Meet the beekeepers

Who makes the honey on our shelf, and why every jar is different.

Hear when new cloth comes in.

One short email when something good arrives, and the workshop dates. About twice a month.
