How much does a small business website cost?
Packages are one-time project fees: Essential Presence is $1,500, Expanded Presence is $2,950, and Complete Presence starts at $5,500. After launch, you pay about $20 a year for your domain, and hosting is free or low cost.
What is the founding client offer?
My first 10 website clients get 10% off Essential, Expanded, or Complete Presence, in exchange for a short review and permission to feature their site. It doesn't combine with other discounts; if more than one applies, you get the bigger one. The offer ends after 10 projects.
Do I own my website?
Yes. Once your project is paid in full, your website, content, domain, and accounts are yours. You can move to another host or developer anytime.
Why does each service need its own page?
A page about one service can answer exactly what people search for, like 'dog grooming in Kingston'. That helps Google and AI tools match you to the right searches. Expanded Presence has room for a page for each service you offer.
What does the Website Diagnostic check?
I check how your site works on phones, how fast it loads, how easily people find you on Google, your Google Business Profile and reviews, whether visitors can quickly tell what you do, and how easy it is to call, book, or buy. You get a short, plain-English report with what to fix first, in order, within 5 business days. The report is yours to use with any developer.
Can you check a site someone else built?
Yes. The Diagnostic works for any website, whoever built it or whatever it's built on.
Can I update the site myself?
Yes. A Content Editing Dashboard (from $1,750, included in Complete Presence) lets you change text, photos, news, and events with no code. The dashboard covers your page text, photos, and the content collections we set up for you, like news or events. The starting price includes 2 collections; more can be added, quoted first. New features or new kinds of pages are $125 an hour, quoted first. Or send changes to me, from $50 per update.
What counts as one update?
A small change that takes about 30 minutes, like new text, a photo, your hours, or fixing a form or checkout link. Buy 5 for $200 and use them within 12 months.
How fast are updates done?
Most within 2 business days. Quick questions by email are always free.
Do I need my copy and photos ready?
No. Rough notes, your old site, and phone photos are a fine start. I polish what you have and draft what's missing. Copy changes are part of your revision rounds, so we get it right without surprise costs.
Why Astro instead of WordPress or Wix?
Astro sites load faster, have no plugins to keep updated, and hosting is free or low cost. WordPress needs regular plugin and security updates, and Wix and Squarespace charge a monthly subscription. Those platforms still make sense for some businesses, and I'll tell you if yours is one.
Already have a website?
Most small businesses are on WordPress, Wix, Squarespace, Shopify, or Webflow. If you're on one of these, I can likely move you to Astro and keep your content, branding, and the pages Google already knows.
Can you redo my current website?
Yes. Start with a $199 Website Diagnostic. I'll tell you honestly whether to fix what you have or rebuild, and if you choose a new website, the fee is credited toward it.
How long does a website take?
Essential Presence takes 2–3 weeks, Expanded Presence 3–5 weeks, and Complete Presence 6+ weeks. The timeline starts once your Statement of Work is signed and the deposit is paid.
